Here is another wedding where I shot the reportage  for Paul Studio in Southend.  Tim and the guys got ready at the Five Lakes Hotel, wearing morning dress with individually coloured ties and handkerchiefs which looked great.   They then made the short journey to Braxted Church, where Sophie arrived in a horse-drawn carriage.  They made a great looking couple, and the guests seemed to have a great time, all of which made for some great photos.  Your comments are welcome as ever.

I recently had the pleasure to shoot the reportage at Candice and Elliott’s wedding for Paul’s Studio.  It was at the pretty church at Blackmore Priory, and then on to Ashwells Golf and Country club near Brentwood.

I had a great shoot with Charlotte today, which also allowed me to test out my new pocket wizards.

This first shot used a single flash from camera-left.

The next setup added a second flash and used some blue and orange gels to add drama.

This simple shoot uses a zoomed flash to emphasise Charlotte.

Again using blue/orange gels, this was taken at f4 give a shallow depth of field. This would not be possible without the pocket wizards.

The same setup with a wider lens.

I thought the lines and gear on the wall were best shown in black and white.

Lastly I liked the diagonal composition of this shot.

I went on the Beckstead on a Bus event yesterday and came away with some great shots.  David was an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher and I came away with many ideas and many great shots.  The models were Rebecca Geldard and Chris and they were both fantastic.  Here are my favourite images:

Last weekend I was the reportage photographer for Paul’s Studio at the lovely wedding of Jodie and Ian at Stoke by Nayland Golf Club in Suffolk.  I also took the ‘guy’ shots and we had some fun with off-camera flash after the first dance.  Please do leave a comment.

I recently took the reportage shots at Neil and Sarah’s wedding for Pauls Studio of Southend. My shots are up on the site, follow Weddings Online then look for Neil and Sarah Reportage. Paul has kindly allowed me to include a few of my favourite shots here.

Yesterday I went along to South West Photo Mounts album roadshow.  I really like the huge coffee table photo albums I currently offer, but was impressed by the feel and quality of the British-made albums on display.  They are made up of double-page photographic prints mounted onto card then han-bound between covers of wood, leather, metal or perspex (sounds wierd but looks great).  I hope to be offering these albums soon.

At the weekend I shot Suzanne and Rudi’s wedding at Theydon Garnon and then at the very impressive Gaynes Park. Here are a few teaser shots, two taking inspiration from techniques discussed at strobist and flashflavor.

I wanted to put a blog on my website to allow current and prospective clients to see what I am doing and what is inspiring me. Setting up the website is still ongoing, so I hope to put some meaningful posts here soon.
